I suppose I should start sending these emails to my friends as well if we are going to make a habit of involving others in our discussions.а Of course, I do not want to be guilty of giving Mr. Smith free publicity...] Well letТs get to work. In your last email you said: (SMITH) I do have a life. (ME) I am happy for you (as usual, your statements quoted below will also be in smaller type). (SMITH) "OF" shows contrast or possession, and it is extremely easy to understand how these phrases are used, which then excludes any possibility of them meaning more. For example: Jesus is, of course, "Lord of ords and King of kings." Is there ANYTHING WHATSOEVER inаthose phrases what would suggest that Jesus is the King of an INFINITE [trillions upon trillion upon trillions] of lesser kings? Of course not. (ME) Well, in a sense yes, he those phrases do hold that idea. Jesus is the king of all kings, whether there are ten or a trillion; he is king over them all. That idea would be the one that is attempting to be conveyed by the phrase. No king is over him, no matter how many kings there are. (SMITH) You said it yourself. The Holy OF holies isthe MOST Holy of all the lesser holies. (ME) I also said it was the holiest place. And I would say that the most holy place was indeed, to quote you, УINFINITE [trillions upon trillion upon trillions]Ф times holier than any other on earth. Would you not agree? (SMITH) The camp of Israel was "holy;" the ourter court was "holy;" the priests themselves were "holy;" and there wasаTHE "holy place." But then there was a curtain and behind the curtain was the MOST HOLY PLACE OF ALL,.а Alnd so, of ALL the many holy things and places connected with the camp of Israel and the tabernacle, the inner chamber where the high priest when but once ayear, the the MOST HOLYа"of" all otherа"holies" or "holy places." (ME) Therefore, in other words, the most holy place was the СholiestТ place on earth, the place that was beyond all other СholiesТ (you seem to stay away from the word СholiestТ). (SMITH) So how does this lend one ounce of credence that "the eons OF the eons" is an UJNDLESS succession of eons? It clearly DOESN'T.ааLikewise, I believe,аit can be shown that the eons function in much the same manner. (ME) You apparently missed the point. The phrase Сages of agesТ would appear to be saying a similar thing to the Сholy of holiesТ. Thus, instead of Сholy of holiesТ meaning the СholiestТ place, the holy beyond holies, Сages of agesТ would meanаthe СagestТ time (СagestТ is obviously not a real word, at least not the way I am using it here, and so the word that we would typically use instead would be СeternityТ, the time beyond times. (SMITH) One eon is contrasted with another eon. One is constrasted to SEVERAL others. SEVERAL are contrasted with SEVERALа others--hence, "the eons of the eons." The last "eons" are the eons of JUDGMENT. They are the consummation of ALL eeons.а Theologians pay virtually no attention to these things because of their biased and contradictory doctrines. The Bible clearly speaks of: A time BEFORE the eons (I Cor. 2:70, that God MAKES the eons (Heb. 1:2), that things were HID from past eons (Col. 1:26), this PRESENT wicked eon (Gal. 1:4), the CONCLUSION of this eon (Matt. 24:3), of anаeon TO COME (Lk 18:30), a plurality ofаONCOMING EONS (Eph. 2:7), the "eon of the eon" (Ep;h. 3:21), and the CONSUMMATION OFаTHE EONS (I Cor. 10:11). (ME) First of all, you should be more courteous when you speak about СtheologiansТ who are much better trained then yourself and without whom you would not even own some of the books from which you quote. Second of all, you have no point here. Yes, scripture talks about different ages. That fact does not prove there is no idea in scripture of eternity. If you would have understood my other arguments, you would see that there is every reason to think that in many places (certainly not all) the authors of scripture had the idea of СeternityТ in mind. (SMITH) These phrases are not some inexact speech that has not specific meaning. а (ME) Here we have another one of those sentences that does not make any sense. (SMITH) I take it that you did not read "Is EVERLASTING Scriptural" found on my home page? Also you should read the first ten pages of my letter to John Hagee under "EXPOSING THOSE WHO CONTRADICT" where I put together a couple of tables and some Scriptures on these very things were are discussing here. (ME) Mr. Smith, if you cannot debate properly here, please do not bother. If you have not understood from my emails, I have no desire to read ten pages of your writings, since, from what I have read, they will not make much sense anyway. If you would like to debate my points, do so in a concise manner through email correspondence. I feel that I am very capable of making my arguments short. I would suggest that you try to do the same. (SMITH) Gotta go. God be with you, Rayа (ME) And may God be with you.
